I love a city, a big city with big city things to do, which usually comes with big city prices. I'm not willing to choose a different destination just because it's cheaper, which means I'm always on the hunt for ways to save a bit of money when I visit those big cities.Earlier this summer, I had the chance to work travel writer, Tim Leffel when he came to Vancouver to research a story about travelling through the Pacific Northwest just using public transit and trains. I've recently started reading his fantastic blog Cheapest Destinations, and this post a couple of weeks ago was right up my alley: Cheap Travel in Expensive Cities.
Tim links through to his story in the latest issue of Budget Travel which has some great ideas for saving money when visiting cities like London, Paris, San Francisco and Rome. I'll definitely be saving this one for reference.
